Starting with the original Rocky in 1976 there has been 9 movies in the franchise. I recently watched Creed 3 and thought it was fairly good but could that exact movie have been a much better experience for me if they had the “vision” to introduce the situation about Creed’s past in the first Creed movie? I think the answer is a definite YES! Read on. . .
If I had known a little about the situation that was given to us in Creed 3 in the first Creed movie then that would have helped make me really get into that third movie a lot better! You may say that the early Rocky movies didn’t have any more “vision” and you’d be right but don’t forget that the original Rocky came out of nowhere and won the academy award so they didn’t know enough to set up the coming films. They had to just make stuff up just to keep ahead of the public’s desire for more movies! But Creed was different because it was entering into an existing long term franchise! What we know about long term franchises is that they usually lose their luster with each film that is added to it! So what could have been done to make each movie actually get more exciting? That’s what I’m talking about today!
Let’s go back and review this situation. I’ll say that even with a boxing movie that the boxing part and how awesome the fights look are not at the top of the list of things that the audience needs to go crazy over with a boxing movie! What is? That feeling where the individual viewer transcends the experience from one of watching the action to one of feeling as though they were the champion themselves! For that to happen it helps if there is a part of the story that has been “brewing” up in their mind longer than the movie they are watching has been playing! To do that takes VISION!
It helps if the viewers are led along with a great story and in a boxing film they have to pit their hero against someone that they end up disliking to some degree! If the story is a continuation of past movies then that makes it something that other folks and myself can really get into!
But vision is something we need in our ordinary everyday lives! If we have great vision in our life then we can make mundane everyday stuff become awesome!

That’s true, having a great vision in life is a blessing in itself…..
Yes, i agree! Thanks for commenting!
