Breed

The Zangersheide is a Belgian warmblood sport horse, specifically a studbook created in 1992 to breed top-level show jumpers, not a traditional breed. Named after the Zangersheide Stud in Lanaken, Belgium, it uses an open studbook, allowing crossbreeding with other sport horses to select for athleticism, jumping ability, and temperament, with registered horses marked by a “Z” at the end of their name. They are known for their success in international show jumping competitions.
