150th Kentucky Derby The Kentucky Derby will take place at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, tomorrow, marking the 150th “Run for the Roses.” The race carries a record purse this year of $5M—$2M more than last year—with tomorrow’s winner taking home $3.1M. The runner-up will receive $1M and third-place $500K. Coverage begins at 2:30 pm ET on NBC, with Derby post time at 6:57 pm ET. The oldest continuous sporting event in America, the Derby features 3-year-old thoroughbred horses born in the Northern Hemisphere racing a 1.25-mile track. This year’s top contenders include Fierceness (5-2 odds as of this writing), who is coming off a win at the Florida Derby, and Sierra Leone (3-1), both hailing from Kentucky. However, the race is known for upsets: A favorite hasn’t won since 2018, and Rich Strike won in 2022 with 80-1 odds. (How are odds calculated?) – 1040 05/03/2024
It’s not enough to merely “keep saying” to yourself what it is you want in your life, to “say” you will implement so & so … “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness #knowing #permutation 05/02/2024
If you are going to do something then do it right! That means being prepared! If you are going to get your mind/body into better shape then you will want to “know” as much as you can about the human “mind/body!” Does that make sense? – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 05/01/2024
Working specifically left hip joint and left inside “quad!” – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 05/01/2024
For “core”(abs, obliques and lower back). Hips stay forward! Hands stay in place, go slow and look straight forward or up slightly! These can be done everyday! – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness #core #coreworkout #corestrength #coretraining #coreexercises #functionaltraining #functionalfitness #functionaltrainer #hoodriver #coulumbiarivergorge 05/01/2024
“For almost every infectious disease, the most vulnerable populations are at the extremes of age — the very young and the very old,” said Stanford Medicine professor of microbiology and immunology and of pathology Bali Pulendran, PhD. 05/01/2024
When we are not honest with ourselves, that alone will keep us from being in a better “health & fitness state!” But it goes much farther than that! Anytime someone “ignores” what is true, then it’s “impossible” to actually take care of problems because we don’t see the problems! – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/29/2024
Think “circles” when exercising and get better results and less injuries! Thanks, “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/28/2024
Why? Exercising with circles in mind, work more muscle & joint area & have less “impact” that could cause overuse injuries! #circularmotionexercise #circles #functionaltraining #hoodriveroregon 04/28/2024
Any problem of the mind/body that is caused by humans (poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking etc.) can be influenced and manipulated by those same people to improve and cause a “more positive effect on!” – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness #selfmade #selfmadeproblems #humanbody #choices #choices #healthychoices 04/28/2024
Training, so instead of just getting huge, that will enhance your natural appearance and “flow” of your body! – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/27/2024
Posing, especially when it’s “isometric,” (contractions without movement of the joint) is a great way to learn about your body! Example: obliques are naturally built at an angle, so when you pose and contract the “oblique” you will build the muscle into its “natural state,” but if you first attack the oblique with a lot of resistance then it is very easy to have the resistance “applied” at the wrong area (direction) and what you will create, instead of a wonderful natural flow, will be a large “thing” in place of what started out as beautifull “humanly” designed muscle that “flowed” but no more! – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/27/2024
When I try working on me, I must become very “unpretentious!” I mean there is nobody else to blame. Why? Because it’s me vs. me! In “the world at large,” one might think that “blaming others” might get him/her “up the ladder” of success but when it’s only me vs. me there is nowhere to hide! At first that can seem “unfair” or “undeserved” but I know different! In the end I only see it as “honourable!” Guess what? I like “honourable!” – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/26/2024
What were my clients doing outside last winter in the snow, cold rain and big winds blowing like it does in the Gorge? 04/25/2024
Congratulations to my “brave outdoors training” clients who took on the winter weather and kept coming back for more! – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/25/2024
I love to see my clients smiling! It tells me that * either they are enjoying what they are doing or * they understand the importance of a smile and they are “faking it until they make it! – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/21/2024
When first starting to exercise, the most important thing is to get to know your mind/body! Listen carefully and know that “bad habits” can creep in and take you “off track” and it’s very hard to “unlearn something!” – “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/20/2024
Do you ever think about quitting your workouts? As a kid, I used to a lot! What stopped me? I asked myself this question every morning upon waking … “if I stop exercising, do I gain more than I lose?” What did I determine every single day? The only thing I would gain is the amount of “time” it took for my training! BUT what would I lose? Everything! “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/16/2024
Focus on what you want in your life! If you want to lose body fat then don’t focus on the fat, instead focus on what you want to replace the fat with like “exercise!” “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness 04/11/2024
